Seattle waterfront properties are on an upswing from the months of January 2013 through September 29, 2013. The increasing numbers of Seattle waterfront properties for sale on the market increased from 29 to 68 which is a 134.5% increase year to date.

One gauge that we use is called "Months of Inventory" which is a term we use that captures the absorption  rate in the market. That is,  what is the amount of time it would take to sell all current listings
at the current sales pace if no new listings became available?

Starting in January 2013 the Months of Inventory for Seattle waterfront properties was seven months. As of September 29, 2013 it is now 11 months of waterfront inventory which tells is it is leaning more towards a buyers market for Seattle waterfront properties.

However this does not mean Seattle waterfront property sellers are "giving" away their property. They are not.
